Founded by Roger Farrow in 1989, City Homes began building single family homes in the inner city of Houston, in West University, Bellaire, and the Heights.  In 1998 townhouses were added to the product line and a twelve unit project was constructed in Montrose. In 2000 a four unit town home project was built in Rice Military, as well as single family homes in the inner city.

Roger is registered with the Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC). His builder number is 7199.

Roger Farrow is a Certified Graduate Master Builder through the National Institute of Builders and is active in his community and in the building industry. Over the years he has been an active member of the Greater SW Houston Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee. City Homes is a member of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) and the Custom Builders Council, a division of GHBA. Roger currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Texas Association of Builders, GHBA and the Custom Builders Council. He is also the program Chair for the Custom Builders Council and was co-op chair for several years. In 2005 Roger was honored as the GHBA Custom Builder of the Year.  On behalf of GHBA, Roger is currently serving on the Neighborhood Preservation committee, a working committee for the City of Houston Planning Commission.
